ARRIVAL BY AIR

1.     TEESSIDE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (preferred point of entry)

The nearest Airport to Stockton on Tees (15 minutes away) is the TEESSIDE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

There are connecting flights into Teeside Airport from the following destinations:

London (Heathrow Airport) - 3 flights per day (bmi (British Midland))

Amsterdam - 3 flights per day (KLM)

Dublin - 2 flights per day (Ryanair)

All the delegates arriving at the Teesside International Airport will be met on arrival by a representative of CIOFF UK. All the Congress delegates arriving at the Teesside International Airport may have the benefit of using VIP Lounge Facilities, courtesy of Teesside International Airport.

2.     NEWCASTLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The delegates can also arrive at the NEWCASTLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (1 hour away from Stockton on Tees), but may experience delay in being transported to Stockton on Tees, depending on arrival time of other delegates.

All the delegates arriving at the Newcastle International Airport will be met on arrival by a representative of CIOFF UK.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN

1.     London to Darlington

There is a direct frequent GNER train service from London (King's Cross Station) to Darlington Station (20 minutes away from Stockton on Tees). Travel from London to Darlington by train takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

All the delegates arriving at the Darlington Station will be met on arrival by a representative of CIOFF UK.

The delegates travelling from Europe by Eurostar will arrive at Waterloo Station (London) and will need to transfer to King's Cross Station (London) to take the further train to Darlington.

2.     Stansted Airport to Darlington

Delegates arriving at Stansted Airport (London) can take a train directly from the Airport to Darlington Station, with one short change at Peterborough. They will be met at the Darlington Station by a CIOFF UK Representative.

ARRIVAL BY SEA

Arriving by Ferry from Europe at either NORTH SHIELDS or HULL PORTS, the delegates can take a train (from North Shields via Newcastle and from Hull via York) to reach Darlington Station, where they will be met by a CIOFF UK Representative.

ARRIVAL BY COACH

National Express coach services run from London directly to Stockton-on-Tees and stop by the entrance to the Swallow Hotel (Congress Location). Journey time approx. 6 hours 30 min.

Delegates arriving by car will be sent a detailed map of how to get to Stockton on Tees. Journey time from London to Stockton-on-Tees approx. 4 hours 30 min. Distance London-Stockton-on-Tees is approx. 400 km.

We are aiming to accommodate all the CIOFF Delegates in SWALLOW HOTEL, STOCKTON-ON-TEES.

Swallow Hotel is a four star Hotel located in the very centre of Stockton-on-Tees.

All the bedrooms have high standard en-suite facilities, satellite television, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities.

Hotel also offers the Leisure facilities including large heated Egyptian Style Swimming Pool, Spa, Steam Room, Sauna, Fitness Room. All these leisure facilities will be free of charge for use by the Congress Delegates.

CULTURAL PROGRAMME

Stockton-on-Tees has a rich history of its own. In 1825 it became the birth-place of the modern railways, where the first passenger train ran from Stockton to Darlington.

On the last day we intend to arrange a sightseeing tour for all the delegates to Hartlepool Marina & Historic Quay (please see the leaflet enclosed for details).

For accompanying persons during the CIOFF World Congress we can propose the following cultural visits to various attractions in Stockton-on-Tees, Tees Valley and the North East of England: (the details of the costs for each visit will be announced at the Congress and will depend on the number of people taking part).
